Philip Markoff, the Craigslist Killer who was engaged to Megan McAllister, was found dead in his Nashua Street Jail cell.
Markoff was accused and pleaded not guilty to the murder of two women: Julissa Brisman, from New York City, and a Las Vegas woman.
McAllister was engaged to Markoff. Following his arrest and jailing while awaiting trial, McAllister ended their relationship during a visit to see him on April 29.
It was their first face-to-face meeting since the accusations came out. Their wedding was scheduled for Aug. 14, 2009.
“To me and my family, he is a loving and caring person and in the eyes of the law and Constitution, he is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt,” she said in a statement last year following Markoff’s arrest.
