Green Bay Packers Defeat Philadelphia Eagles 27-20 - Kevin Kolb, Leonard Weaver Injured

The Philadelphia Eagles lost four starters in the first half then lost the game to the Green Bay Packers despite a furious comeback attempt led by a rejuvenated Michael Vick. Starting QB Kevin Kolb and MLB Stewart Bradley left the game with concussions at half time. Center Jamaal Jackson injured his elbow and Leonard Weaver suffered a horrific looking knee injury that has been termed a "sprain" by the Eagle training staff. The Green Bay Packers also lost starting running back Ryan Grant to an ankle injury.

The Packers opened up a 27-10 lead on multiple Aaron Rodgers touchdown passes. Rodgers finished the day 19 of 31 passing for 188 with touchdown passes to Greg Jennings and Donald Driver. He also threw two interceptions, including a key late pick by rookie safety Nate Allen that gave Philadelphia the opportunity to possibly tie the game in the fourth quarter.
However, Philadelphia failed to convert a late fourth and one near midfield at the two minute warning and the game was done. With Kolb out in the second half, Vick was an impressive 16 of 14 for 175 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions. He also led all players with 103 yards rushing on 11 carries.

Early, the storyline in Philadelphia was a fantastic looking Philadelphia Eagles defense stuffing an obviously talented Green Bay Packers offense all first half until the final two minutes of the half when the Packers scored twice. Three first half sacks and an interception had helped the Eagles stay in the game while the offense muddled about aimlessly. However, Aaron Rodgers' quick strike offense finally struck with a touchdown and field goal to close out the first half.
The teams traded early field goals--and injuries. Philadelphia sent Leonard Weaver to the sidelines in obvious agony with a serious knee injury. Reports are conflicting, some calling it a sprain and others terming it a broken leg. Green Bay's Ryan Grant also went to the locker room with an apparent leg injury. At different times, Kevin Kolb, Stewart Bradley, and Jamaal Jackson all left the field for Philadelphia. Kolb and Bradley are out with concussions.
