Carlile performs on “Austin City Limits”
Fans of “Austin City Limits” were treated to a special performance by singer Brandi Carlile on Saturday night. Carlile performed songs from her brand new album, “Give Up the Ghost.”

The Seattle-based singer and songwriter hit the circuit with her self-titled debut CD in 2005.

Her popularity grew with her second release in 2007, and songs from that album helped her earn the respect of legendary singer and writer Elton John.

The recording of “Give Up the Ghost” allowed her to learn from and work with John, Tom Petty and other music legends. Her music has been hard for many to categorize, as it takes pieces and parts from pop, rock, alternative country, folk and indy styles.
