Comedian Robert Schimmel died at 60 last night in Phoenix due to injuries he sustained in a car accident last week, reports TMZ. He was in a serious crash while riding as a passenger in a car with his 19-year-old daughter, who swerved to avoid an accident.
His daughter is still in the hospital, but reportedly will be okay. His son was allegedly in the car as well, but walked away from the crash relatively unharmed.
Schimmel was a frequent guest on Howard Stern's radio show, and also Late Night with Conan O'Brien. He wrote a memoir chronicling his battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma called Cancer on $5 A Day.
