Last night was the premiere of the new USA Network series Fairly Legal, starring celebrity actress Sarah Shahi, which begs the question many have been asking: Who is Sarah Shahi? –

Thursday night marked the premier of the new USA Network series Fairly Legal, a legal drama starring celebrity actress Sarah Shahi, who portrays a lawyer at her late father’s law firm who decides to become a mediator.

While Fairly Legal garnered mixed reviews, it still got more than enough people wondering about the show because of its star, celebrity actress Sarah Shahi. However, Sarah Shahi is still relatively unknown to many viewers. Which begs the question: Who is Sarah Shahi?



WHO IS SARAH SHAHI?

Celebrity actress Sarah Shahi was born on January 10, 1980 in Euless, Texas to parents Abbas Shahi and Mahmonir Shahi. Sarah Shahi is of Persian descent, her father being born in Iran.

After earning her degree at Southern Methodist University, Sarah Shahi tried out and was accepted as a member of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.
Capitalizing on her success as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, Sarah Shahi moved to Hollywood, and after getting bit parts in several different TV shows, she gained the role that really put her on the map, playing the role of Carmen de la Pica Morales in the Showtime original series The L Word.

Playing the role of a Mexican-American DJ in The L Word, which followed the lives of people in the LGBT community, Sarah Shahi starred as Carmen de la Pica for three seasons, ending her run in 2007.

Following her role in The L Word, celebrity actress Sarah Shahi was chosen to play the role of homicide detective and recovering alcoholic and addict Dani Reese in the NBC series Life. Although Life was cancelled after two seasons, Sarah Shahi gained much acclaim for her role as a gritty, street-smart detective.

Following the cancellation of Life, celebrity actress Sarah Shahi was selected to play the role of Kate Reed, a lawyer turned mediator in the USA Network original series Fairly Legal. The show was originally titled Facing Kate, with the title changed by USA last year. The show debuted on USA Network on Thursday Jan. 20, 2011.

Celebrity actress Sarah Shahi has also graced the pages of several magazines, including Men’s Health and Maxim, and featured once again in Maxim in their February 2011 issue.

Celebrity actress is married to celebrity actor Steve Howey, whom she met while guest starring on the TV series Reba. The celebrity couple has one child, William, born in July 2009.
