Sandra Bullock files for divorce because of a Erykah Badu Video Uncut showed Mindy Lawton was not in it. In the latest spin in the latest round of wacky weird news stories that aren't true. Sandra Bullock files for divorce over that? Wouldn't it be for the Jesse James Nazi picture?

Sounds crazy and it is. Because if the Erykah Badu Window Seat Video Uncut was showing right now and it had Mindy Lawton in it, everyone from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean would know. Even Vanity Fair magazine would have a nice big double page cover feature spread on it.

So none of the above is true. It's just meant to give a little laugh and to not take everything so seriously. Erykah Badu strips video has enough publicity on her own without having to have Mindy Lawton pictures spread out all throughout the video.

Martin just posted the following message on his official website: "Today is my day, this is my time, and this is my moment ... These years in silence and reflection made me stronger and reminded me that acceptance has to come from within and that this kind of truth gives me the power to conquer emotions I didn't even know existed."

He ends his post with, "I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man. I am very blessed to be who I am."

In Plain Sight Preview: Season 3 Premiere

This week, USA is bringing back their original drama series In Plain Sight. We have some clips from the season premiere, including one that features guest star Donnie Wahlberg!

The premise of IPS is fairly simple. The series follows Mary McCormack, a U.S. marshal who works in the witness protection program. Her job is to keep people safe, which can often be fairly tricky and highly dangerous. Like most of USA’s other original series, In Plain Sight is the kind of show you can start watching mid-series. I say this because I think it’s worth checking out. The show’s about 2 parts action/mystery/suspense, 1 part family/relationship-drama and 1 part humor. Great characters and great stand-alone episode stories.

In the season premiere, with the help of her partner Marshall, Mary sets out to figure out who shot her. The episode guest stars Donnie Wahlberg.

Below is USA’s description for the series.

In Plain Sight stars Mary McCormack as Mary Shannon, a U.S. Marshal working in the highly secretive witness protection program (WITSEC). Her job is to relocate Federal Witnesses, some of whom are career criminals, and some of whom are innocents who had the misfortune of witnessing a crime. But they all have one thing in common - someone wants them dead. Mary's job is to make sure this doesn't happen, while at the same time dealing with her own dysfunctional family.

In Plain Sight also stars Frederick Weller, Nichole Hiltz and Paul Ben-Victor, along with returning guest-stars Lesley Ann Warren, Cristian de la Fuente, and Joshua Malina. Oscar, Emmy and Grammy winner Rita Moreno (Cane, The Guardian), four-time Emmy winner Allison Janney (The West Wing, Juno), Steven Weber (Wings, Studio 60), Tess Harper (No Country for Old Men, Breaking Bad), Josh Cooke (Committed, Four Kings) and Donnie Wahlberg (Boomtown, The Sixth Sense) have also been cast to guest star in season three in the USA Network hit original series.

Showrunner John McNamara (The Fugitive, Eyes) joins the show this year as writer/executive producer, further elevating the show’s narrative drive, production value and design. "In Plain Sight" comes from Universal Cable Productions.

HOUSTON — Nolan Smith scored 29 points and Duke returned to the Final Four for the first time in six years by beating Baylor 78-71 on Sunday in the South Regional final, ending the Bears' charming run to college basketball redemption.
Jon Scheyer added 20 points for the Blue Devils (33-5), the only No. 1 seed to advance to Indianapolis. It is their 11th trip to the Final Four under coach Mike Krzyzewski.
In the national semifinals for the first time since 2004, Duke will play East Regional champion West Virginia on Saturday night. The Blue Devils have won 11 of their last 12 regional finals under Krzyzewski, but haven't won a national title since 2001.
Smith and Scheyer helped Duke offset a poor game from junior forward Kyle Singler, who was 0 for 10 from the field and made only five free throws. It was the first time in his college career he failed to hit a field goal.
LaceDarius Dunn had 22 points and Ekpe Udoh scored 18 for the Bears (28-8), whose program was in shambles when coach Scott Drew took over in the wake of murder and scandal less than seven years ago.
After tying the game for the 12th time on a free throw with 3:36 left, Smith missed his second attempt. But Lance Thomas grabbed the rebound and quickly passed the ball right back to Smith, who hit a 3-pointer from the right wing to put Duke up 64-61.
Scheyer extended the lead to six with his fifth 3-pointer.
Tweety Carter and Quincy Acy had 12 points each for Baylor.

Former three-time world champion, Erik Morales, of Tijuana, Mex., scored a 12-round, unanimous decision over Jose "Jicaras" Alfaro on Saturday night in Monterrey, Nuevo, Leon, Mex., ending a 31-month absence from the ring, as well as a four-match losing streak that was part of five losses in his last six fights.

The 33-year-old Morales (49-6, 34 knockouts) dropped the 26-year-old Alfaro, of Nagarote, Nicaragua, to 23-6, with 20 KOs) in a 142-pound bout, renewing his hopes of becoming the first Mexican fighter to win a crown in four divisions.

In March of 2005, Morales earned perhaps the biggest victory of his career by unanimous decision over future seven-division champion, Manny Pacquiao, who, since then, has gone 12-0, with eight knockouts -- including two stoppages over Morales.

Morales, who will turn 34 in September, won, 116-112, on the cards of two judges, and, 117-111, on that of the third.

Alfaro was coming off of October's one-sided, 10th-round knockout loss to Mexican southpaw, Antonio DeMarco, who won virtually every round of their WBC interim lightweight title bout before stopping Alfaro.

Alfaro had won three straight fights, two of them by knockout, before facing DeMarco.

ON May 28, 1938 in Chelyan, West Virginia one of the greatest basketball players of all time, Jerry West was born. The town of Chelyan was small that it had no post office, so it was served by a post office in Cabin Creek.

When Jerry was growing up he was taught the game by his brother David, 15 years older, who was later killed in Korea. Jerry practiced the game his brother taught him religiously, practicing know matter what the weather. His mother scolded him many times after having to bring him back inside after shooting baskets through driving rainstorms.
As Jerry grew up and entered into high school all of the practicing of the game for all those long hours started paying off. He gained a lot of local fame as the star basketball player for Consolidated East Bank High School team. In his senor year he lead his team to the state title, scoring 39 points in the state championship game? East Bank did not lose a game all year. The championship was so important to the town that the Mayor of West Bank changed the name to Jerry for a day.

After the championship game colleges from all over the country came to talk to him about attending their school. After getting some advice from his mother, Jerry chose his home state school of West Virginia.

In his first year for the freshman team Jerry picked up where he left off from his high school days averaging nearly 20 points and leading his team to an undefeated record. IN Jerry's next year on the varsity his team finished 26-2 and lead the nations polls as the top team in the nation.I n his next two seasons Jerry was an All-American and thought his team never won the NCAA tournament Jerry was named the most valuable player of the tournament.

After his college career was over Jerry signed a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. This would be the team Jerry would spend his entire career with. Jerry was an instant success in the NBA as he made both the All-Star and All-League team.

West continued to have a great career finishing with a 27 point average and countless All-Star appearances. He lead his team to the championship many times but could only win it all once in his amazing career. In the NBA's 50 anniversary Jerry was selected as one of the 50 greatest player of all time.

Jerry has since gone on to become the general manger of both the Lakers and his current job of general manager of the Memphis Grizzles. No matter how much time passes remember this: West was such a great player that his is the silhouette that is on the NBA logo.

Sandra Bullock Pregnant: Sandra Bullock’s Husband Jesse James Mistresses # Four Surfaces

Sandra Bullock is pregnant with Bad Boy. Or rather Bullock pregnancy is the latest twist in the Jesse James mistresses’ assortment that has recently suffered from out of left field on the heels of Sandra Bullock winning her first ever Oscars award in March. The media is saturated the array of mistresses coming forward at warp speed to tell their “dirty” tell all for the highest bidder.

While the marriage may unfortunately be under the spotlight due to the torrid affairs Sandra Bullock’s husband Jesse James has engaged in the focus just might shift to the possibility of Bullock’s being pregnant with the child of the man who has broken her heart. The unconfirmed reports also have come out of the blue. Thus far, the Bullock and James union has produced no children but have jointly cared for James’s daughter from a previous relationship.
Could the news of the pregnancy have ultimately been what provoked Michelle “Bombshell” McGee to divulge her tawdry tell all just days after the strained couple appeared together at the Oscars ceremony on Bullock’s big night? Since then both Michelle Smithand Brigitte Daguerreehave come forward with evidence of their affairs with the bad boy husband of Bullock’s. As rumor swirl around about an imminent pregnancy announcement from the Bullock’s camp fresh allegations of infidelity against James have surfaced.

Deann McClung, a resident of Long Beach California, claims that James once ‘forced’ her into a ‘sexual contact’ with him. The Monster Garage owner is definitely up to his neck and knee deep in it to say the least. Bullock’s really needs to consider her next move carefully be she pregnant or not? An adulterer for a baby daddy is not always the best example of a father for anyone. Heart goes out to all the children involve and Sandra, of course.

Another Alleged Jesse James Mistress (Number 4!) Emerges

With the number of alleged mistresses adding up for Jesse James, celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred has finally found her way in the act.

Allred has put out word that she is representing "a beautiful model and business woman" who "had an intimate three year relationship with Jesse James."

This means two things really. 1) It's not a celebrity scandal unless Allred is involved somehow, so we've finally passed that benchmark. 2) The tally of alleged mistresses coming out is now unofficially at four.

Allred said in the statement from her law firm that the unnamed woman "is in the process of trying to decide if she will come forward." Allred declined to answer why the woman has sought out legal representation. "My only comment is contained in my statement," she told PopEater.

As far as how the two got together: "(James) pursued her and had strong feelings for her," the Allred statement claims.

As proof of the relationship the woman has "hundreds of texts, emails and photos."

"The relationship just ended recently after the scandal broke."

Johnny Maestro, Crests and Brooklyn Bridge singer, dies at age 70 of cancer

Johnny Maestro, who started out singing on the New York subways and a few years later recorded one of the great teen love anthems, "Sixteen Candles," died late Wednesday night in Florida after a battle with cancer. He was 70.

A distinctive and highly respected vocalist both among his peers and fans of early rock ‘n' roll, Maestro spent his life in the music business, scoring hits as lead singer of the Crests in the 1950s and then the Brooklyn Bridge a decade later.

He continued performing live shows with the Brooklyn Bridge until he was diagnosed several months ago with an invasive cancer.

The Crests were best known for "Sixteen Candles," which peaked at No. 2 on the national charts and later lent its name to a John Hughes movie in which Hughes used a later Stray Cats version of the title song.

"Sixteen Candles" was originally written as "21 Candles," but the number was downsized on the theory that "16" would better reflect the rock 'n' roll demographic.

The Crests followed with a number of catchy uptempo hits, including "Trouble In Paradise," "The Angels Listened In" and "Step By Step" – though many R&B aficionados today favor their lesser-known early classic ballads like "Sweetest One" and "No One To Love."

Maestro, who was born Johnny Mastrangelo and grew up on Mulberry St., broke off in 1961 for a solo career that went nowhere. Then in 1968 he formed the Brooklyn Bridge, whose swelling instrumental and vocal sound scored a No. 3 hit in early 1969 with "The Worst That Could Happen."

The Bridge also had some lesser hits, including "Blessed Is the Rain" and "Welcome Me Love."

While Maestro had one of the strongest and most distinctive voices in early rock ‘n' roll, he was not a flamboyant personality and didn't seek the spotlight off-stage.

In many ways, he was the quintessential New York kid singer of the ‘50s. He began singing for fun on the streets and in subway stations, which had the perfect echo for harmony vocals.

He was unusual in that he often performed with black singers at a time when interracial groups were a relative rarity. In 1956 at the Henry Street Settlement, he met a black group from the Alfred E. Smith projects in Chinatown and became their lead singer.

Their members included second tenor Patricia Van Dross, who had a kid brother named Luther.

Bass J.T. Carter named them the Crests and they were singing on the Lexington Avenue IRT, coming out of the Brooklyn Bridge station, when a woman handed them a business card and told them to contact her husband.

He turned out to be Al Browne, a musician, music store and record label owner in Brooklyn. The group recorded "Sweetest One" and "No One To Love" for his low-tech Joyce label, which he ran out of the back room of his shop.

Browne didn't have much promotional power, but a year later songwriter Billy Dawn Smith steered the Crests to Coed Records, which did.

Coed's desire to break Maestro off as a solo artist eventually led to some tension with the other Crests, who included Carter, Talmadge Gough and Hector Torres. When Maestro left, the others kept the group name, though Maestro continued performing "Sixteen Candles" and other Crests songs in Brooklyn Bridge shows.

Maestro recorded occasionally in recent years and he was living in Cape Coral, Fla., at the time of his death.

Big News in North Carolina – Cynthia Shackelford has been awarded several million dollars from her husband’s mistress.

Cynthia Shackelford, 60, sued her husband Allan's mistress Anne Lundquist for alienation of affection which is allowed under North Carolina case law. Shackelford charged that Lundquist broke up her 33-year marriage.

Last week, a jury awarded Shackelford $5 million in compensator damage and $4 million in punitive damages to be paid by Lundquist, ABC News reported.

There are all kinds of implications with this particular verdict; one has to wonder if the fate of South Carolina’s First Lady Jenny Sanford had anything to do with the outcome of the Cynthia Shackelford case. Maybe, maybe not. But in a weird, kind of retro, déjà vu atmosphere, Lundquist has been found to owe her counterpart damages – both compensatory and punitive.

There are several sides to this story. Years ago, Texas had in place the “paramour” law, which excused men from capital murder charges for killing men they caught in bed with their wives. Interestingly, the law did NOT afford women the same out for such a murder.

In the North Carolina courtroom, Cynthia Shackelford’s nemisis was criticized (and later convicted) for methodically going after a man that she KNEW was married. We women have made strides, after all.

For all of the progress women have made as a result of the women’s movement, we’ve still a long way to go. After all, where was MR. Shackelford in all of this “blame game”? Playing golf, somewhere at best; at worst, he flew to Argentina to be with a mistress who is more discreet than Ms. Lundquist.

Jesse James Scandal w/ Michelle McGee Leads to Divorce from Sandra Bullock...!

The Jesse James Scandal w/ Michelle Bombshell McGee has led to marriage trouble for the high profile couple, Sandra Bullock and Jesse James. Michelle Bombshell McGee has dropped the bombshell of an 11 month affair with Jesse James and now a divorce between Sandra Bullock and Jesse James seems imminent.

Sandra Bullock moved out of the house she shared with Jesse James some time in between when she received her Best Actress Award at the 2010 Academy Awards and when the bombshell was released by Michelle McGee. Jesse James has released an apology and been seen around town sporting his wedding ring to Sandra Bullock. But there has been no sign of Bullock anywhere. I am sure she is needing to healing and recuperate quietly. Can’t say I blame her a bit.

According to TMZ, Sandra Bullock’s representatives have been looking for “high-end divorce lawyers.” One high prospect lawyer for Bullock is named Lance Spiegel. Spiegel handled the divorces of Heather Locklear, Michael Jackson and Charlie Sheen.

Jesse James’ representatives are also looking for divorce lawyers, but James is not going to file for divorce on Bullock in hopes of reconciling his marriage. Good luck, Jesse James. It is not looking good for you.

First we didn't know who shouted "Baby Killer!" at Rep. Bart Stupak last night, during the health care debate. Joe Barton knew, but he wasn't talking. Then, we found out: It was Lubbock's own Rep. Randy Neugebauer, which, according to Jim anyway, sounded familiar.

Neugebauer. Neugebauer. Neugebauer. (Also: It's fun to say.)

Schutze just knew he'd heard that name before. And so off to the Nexis database he went -- clearly, he's got a column due and is procrastinating. And so, after the jump, you'll find what he likes to call Great Moments in History with Randy Neugebauer. One in a series of one. Collect 'em all.
Great Moments in History with Randy Neugebauer by Jim Schutze

November 21, 2008: Randy Neugebauer, Republican congressman from Lubbock, Texas, opposes bail-out for American auto industry: "I am not convinced that further government spending will address the issues of these struggling automotive companies or our economy."

February 19, 2009: Neugebauer opposes mortgage relief: "I remain concerned that the government could be rewarding borrowers and lenders who made poor investment decisions at the expense of families who made responsible decisions."

February 21, 2009: Neugebauer attacks Obama administration for proposing stimulus spending. "They never were selling the plan. They were selling fear."

April 15, 2009: Neugebauer compares President Obama to England's King George III: "We've got the government picking winners and losers in the economy. That's exactly what the king of England was doing, picking winners and losers based on who they were."

May 20, 2009: Neugebauer opposes Obama's proposed fuel efficiency standards: "I believe the administration cannot continue to tinker with the economy and enact standards that will place greater burden on hardworking Americans, stifle the economy and hinder an already struggling automotive industry."

June 26, 2009: Federal Election Commission rules that Neugebauer may pay himself for the use of his own private yacht, harbored in the Washington area, for parties to raise political donations for himself. "The congressman appreciates today's ruling from the FEC and will abide by the guidelines that have been put forth," says Chanda Allen, campaign spokeswoman.

June 30, 2009: Neugebauer is one of three Texas Congressional members to sponsor bill requiring presidential candidates to prove they were born in America -- the so-called Birther Bill. MSNBC Countdown host Keith Olbermann awards Neugebauer a "Worst Person in the World" award. "The people that elected you are obviously idiots," Olbermann says on his show.

August 17, 2009: Despite disavowals by members of his own party, Neugebar continues to support claim that President Obama wants to create "death panels" to kill old people. "This is yet another example of the terrible flaws in this legislation," Neugebauer says.

August 28, 2009: Neugebauer announces $250,000 fund-raising goal to knock off liberal incumbents. "All sorts of people have come up and asked me, 'What can we do to stop a lot of the things going on in our country?'"

September 6, 2009: Neugebauer supports parents who want schools to be prohibited from playing speech by President of United States on public address systems and television stations. "He also encourages parents to stay involved in their children's education," says Michelle Ozanus, spokeswoman.

September 17, 2009: Neugebauer introduces bill to ban any federal funds for ACORN, a liberal community organizing group. "The American taxpayers are tired of having their hard-earned tax dollars used to fund this questionable organization," he says.

October 4, 2009: Roll Call, newspaper covering Capitol Hill, names Neugebauer Congress's 46th richest member with a net worth of $5.91 million.

December 12, 2009: Neugebauer blasts proposal to lift national debt limit in order to keep government in operation. Holding his congressional electronic voting card in the air, he says, "We need to lower limit on this credit card."

December 17, 2009: Neugebauer assures newspaper in Lubbock that he supports continued funding of national "Pell" grants for students. "We must allocate our resources in the most efficient way possible."

January 28, 2010: Neugebauer attacks President for proposing a freeze on federal spending. "If the president and Democrat leaders in Congress are serious about reining in soaring deficits and debt, they should freeze spending at the level from two years ago."

February 21, 2010: Neugebauer criticizes efforts of Federal Aviation Administration to solve problem of electrical interference with landing system at Lubbock Airport during recent storms. He says FAA officials did solve problem, but, "They weren't doing a good job of communicating."

March 6, 2010: National Journal magazine says Neugebauer is tied with five other Republican representatives as most conservative based on House voting records.

March 16, 2010: Neugebauer's office informs local newspaper that Abilene will receive $175,000 in federal funds for flood control study, $300,000 for the biotechnology accelerator and $200,000 for the city bus facilities.

March 22, 2010: Neugebauer says he shouted "baby killer" during speech by anti-abortion Michigan Democrat Bart Stupak. "I deeply regret that my actions were mistakenly interpreted as a direct reference to Congressman Stupak himself."

She requests that it be replaced with a sports competition. FUNNY! Beauty pageants are spilling with prissy women who would never even think of getting SWEATY, let alone rough and dirty.

Maybe people would be more interested in beauty pageants if they added a sports round, what do you think?

'Get a real job, you commie,' one man yelled. 'Father another child out of wedlock while you're at it,' said another. And in an especially bizarre moment, a black Tea Party protester used a bullhorn to question whether Jackson was there when Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated.

Katherine Heigl Wardrobe Malfunction Video and Pictures SHOCKING. Heigl has been in the news recently because of her decision to leave Grey’s Anatomy. However, she recently popped back up into the media because of an unfortunate wardrobe mishap.

Heigl is now focused on feature films instead of TV shows…0h, and holding up the strap on her dress.

While at an award ceremony, the strap on Katherine’s red dress broke and the flabbergasted actress was left holding up the dress, speechless.

Of course, Heigl has a great sense of humor, and the wardrobe malfunction was nothing but a blip. She was shocked, speechless, then composed herself and joked about the situation.

Wardrobe malfunctions happen. Sometimes, they are a little orchestrated or at least seem orchestrated (read: Janet Jackson Super Bowl). Other times, these things just happen – like the most recent incident.

The unfortunate incident took place at ShoWest in Las Vegas, so Heigl wasn’t showing skin to an audience that wasn’t used to seeing it.

The bombs keep dropping from Jesse James' self-proclaimed mistress, tattoo fetish model Michelle "Bombshell" McGee.

TMZ has obtained shocking photos of a bikini clad McGee wearing a Nazi armband and hat. The site says the images were taken almost a year ago.

In one image, she is licking a dagger. In another, she is holding a massive gun.
According to the site, the photographer came up with the idea, but McGee was happy to play along.

TMZ also reports that in child custody documents filed in January, McGee's ex-husband says the tattoo model "makes the Nazi salute," and has a swastika tattooed on her stomach. CBS has seen many photos of McGee and has not seen a swastika there.

McGee does have a tattoo of a "w" on one leg and a "p" on the other, which TMZ claims stands for white power.

McGee, who did not respond to repeated email requests for comment, claims that she had an 11-month sexual affair with Monster Garage host Jesse James that continued while James' wife, Sandra Bullock was filming "The Blind Side."

On Thursday, James apologized for his poor behavior without specifics. People has reported that Bullock moved out of the house shortly after winning an Oscar for Best Actress for her Blind Side work. A few days later, McGee's claims were published in In Touch Weekly.

Report: Sandra Bullock Marriage on Rocks

People magazine reports that, just eight days after taking home the Oscar for her hit movie, "The Blind Side," Bullock moved out of the Los Angeles home she shared with her husband of five years, reality TV star Jesse James.

Bullock and James -- who looked like a very close and happy couple at the awards ceremony -- were married in July 2005.

But In Touch magazine reports that, while Bullock was filming "Blind Side" in Atlanta, James was having an affair with tattoo model Michelle "Bombshell" McGee in L.A.
McGee, a mother of two, told In Touch, "I would never have hooked up with him if I thought he was a married man. He gave me the impression they were separated."

She even claimed to have a pet name for James - "Vanilla Gorilla" - because of his physical gifts.

On Wednesday, Bullock pulled out of the London "Blind Side" premiere, saying in a statement, "Due to unforeseen personal reasons, a trip abroad to support "The Blind Side" has been deemed impossible at this time."

Bullock and James have been involved in a long custody battle with James' ex-wife, former porn star Janine Lindemulder.

If the supposed split becomes permanent, Bullock would join a long list of actresses struck by what's called the "Oscar curse" -- relationships that have broken up shortly after winning Best Actress honors.

Among them: Hilary Swank, Halle Berry, Reese Witherspoon, Julia Roberts and Kate Winslet.

Chilton's longtime friend John Fry says that Chilton died Wednesday at a hospital in New Orleans after experiencing what appeared to be heart problems.
Fry, the owner of Memphis-based Ardent Studios, says he has spoken to Chilton's wife and that she's very distressed. Fry said: "It was just a sudden and unexpected event."
Chilton had been scheduled to perform with Big Star on Saturday at the South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas.
The festival's creative director, Brent Grulke, says Chilton's gift for melody was second to none.
Gulke says: "Alex Chilton always messed with your head, charming and amazing you while doing so."

Carey Mulligan to Begin Production in Emma Thompson’s ‘Effie’

Effie, a film based on the relationship between Victorian poet and artist, John Ruskin and his unfortunate wife Effie Gray will go into production next month. The film is written by Emma Thompson who will also play Lady Eastlake, and the Oscar-nominated Carey Mulligan will be in the starring role of Gray.
Richard Laxton is directing and Thompson’s husband, Greg Wise, is to produce the film and play the part of Ruskin. According to thefancarpet he and Thompson asked Mulligan to take the part before her success in An Education:
“Carey has a rare quality of being open and unfettered. At the time Effie said she would have borne anything, had Ruskin just been kind. But I can’t play him as an ogre because the audience need to understand why she married this man.”
Ruskin and Gray’s unconsummated love affair will be central to the plot of the film. United on his wedding night in April 1848 with Effie Gray, the girl who had been the object of some of his most beautiful writing during their courtship, Ruskin suddenly realises he has made a mistake and postpones the consummation.
Thompson has already revealed that in the screenplay, the wedding night is a key plot point:
“We will show that night at the start, but it doesn’t play itself out until the very end. I have talked to many different Ruskinians and they all have a slightly different take on it.”
It seems, however that Wise and Thompson have already chosen to use Gray’s take on the situation, with both her letters and Ruskin’s own statement at the annulment proceedings confirming that he had “found her person repugnant” on the night of their wedding.
For Wise, the Ruskins’ wedding night is telling of the growing western preoccupation with the ideal female image and its adversities from reality:
“In the same way now that men are bombarded with images of what is supposed to be the ideal woman, after the Pre-Raphaelite ideal anything is going to be a let down. Real life is wrinkles and smells.”
Although it will heavily involve Ruskin, Thompson seems to be following in the line of Jane Campion with Effie taking the spotlight much like Fanny Brawne did in Bright Star. The critical success of Campion’s film has shown that films such as this need not be strictly biopic in order to tell a story worthy of attention.
This could make for a great original and controversial film that will certainly give Mulligan another opportunity to extend her already present abilities. Depending on how Ruskin’s character is played out in Thompson’s script, the points this film could make on how the female body is perceived could be very interesting to say the least. This will be a film that won’t have a quiet run when it enters the theatres.
Wise and Thompson hope to start shooting next month in Venice and Scotland.

Interscope Geffen A&M are on fire as they lock up #1, #2 and #3 on this week’s Mediabase Top 40 Chart. Lady Gaga moves to #1 with "Telephone" featuring Beyoncé, while the Black Eyed Peas moves up to #2 with "Imma Be" and Orianthi holds at #3 with "According to You." It’s déjà vu all over again because Interscope has owned the top three Top 40 spots once before. On June 16, 2002, Vanessa Carlton’s "A Thousand Miles," Eminem’s "Without Me" and No Doubt’s "Hella Good" were #1, #2 and #3 for the label. Interscope actually occupies five of this week’s Top 10 spots with Gaga's "Bad Romance" at #7 and "Carry Out" by Timbaland featuring Justin Timberlake at #9. Congrats to the entire Interscope promotion team on this monumental achievement.
"Telephone" also becomes Gaga's sixth straight #1 single, an incredible feat. She also has announced new dates for her revamped Monster's Ball 2010 tour, which will come to North American arenas throughout the summer. The new round of touring begins in Montreal on June 28 and wraps up in Raleigh, NC on September 19.
"It's still called Monster Ball, but it's more of a musical and less of a concert," Lady Gaga said in a February interview with Ryan Seacrest on KIIS/Los Angeles. "It has a New York theme, it's a story, and the story is that me and my friends are in New York and we're going to the Monster Ball, and we get lost."

An appreciation: How Peter Graves made his mission possible

Peter Graves, who died on Sunday at age 83, is being remembered this morning primarily for two achievements: Being the star of Mission: Impossible and being a good sport spoofing himself in the Airplane! movies. But his story is more interesting than that.
Yes, Graves was the right actor at the right time to lead the motley crew of operatives on Mission: Impossible, a James Bond-era adventure series that aired at a time when such dramas could be presented without irony. Although not without flecks of light humor (mostly from the sparks provided by the slinky twosome Martin Landau and Babara Bain), M:I was even able to pull off the “Your mission, should you choose to accept it” shtick with a straight face because Graves was, well, a gravely serious leader as Jim Phelps, leader of a secret government organization.
When M:I first aired on CBS between 1967 and 1973, it was still possible to present impossible missions seriously right alongside parodies of exactly the same sort of show — Mel Brooks’ Get Smart! coexisted on NBC at the same time.
Before Mission: Impossible, though, Graves had led an uneven, bumpy career. He’d come to Hollywood in the shadow of his more-famous brother, James Arness, who became an even bigger TV legend as the star of Gunsmoke, the most popular and longest-running Western of its era. Graves even changed his last name (it was his maternal grandfather’s name) to distinguish himself from his brother.
Not that they didn’t work in the same genre sometimes. Graves headed up a early-’60s Western, Whiplash, which was both typical of the era — check out the stagecoach and the Frankie Laine-style theme song — and distinctive
Graves had a feature-film career, and while he never attained A-list leading-man status, his resume included notable appearances in good movies such as Charles Laughton’s Night of the Hunter (1955) and Otto Preminger’s The Court-Martial of Billy Mitchell (1955), he struggled to rise above the kind of low-budget junk that would become fodder for ridicule on Mystery Science Theater 3000, movies such as Killers from Space and It Conquered the World.
The final phase of Graves’ career was one he entered into unwillingly at first. The story has often been told that when he was sent the script for the first Airplane! movie, he didn’t want to do it, thought it was in bad taste, didn’t get that it was more of an affectionate send-up of his granite-hard delivery than an outright humilation of it.
Once Airplane! became a hit, though, Graves had pulled off one of the best Hollywood tricks: Instead of being an object of ridicule for his bad B-movies, he was now in on the joke, and celebrated as a guy who could not just take a joke but deliver one with fine deadpan timing.
Which led to his stint as host of A&E’s Biography, a series that became known in part for the sound of his deep, grainy voice. He’d come full circle, and was the subject of a Biography episode himself in 1997.
Peter Graves’ career stands as an example of the way a smart, dexterous actor can survive decades of tough Hollywood life and emerge looking as he did in his prime: smooth, cool, and dashing, making it all look easy. It wasn’t, which makes his work all the more impressive.
