LAS VEGAS, May 31 (UPI) -- French-Canadian singer Celine Dion is pregnant at the age of 42 with twins, her assistant said.

Dion is nearly four months pregnant and due in late October or early November, her assistant Anna DeMartino said.

Dion plans to give birth and then return to Caesars Palace March 15 for three years, DeMartino told Vegas Confidential.

The singer and her husband, Rene Angelil, have a 9-year-old son, Rene Charles, and have tried several times unsuccessfully to have more children, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported Monday.

Rene Charles was conceived through in vitro fertilization, as were Dion's anticipated twins, the Review-Journal reported.

Dion underwent acupuncture treatments six weeks before her most recent in vitro procedure and will continue the treatments for the rest of her pregnancy, DeMartino said.
