Amy Locane - Indictment of the Former Melrose Place Star

She is best known for her roll in Melrose Place. The 39-year-old actress made her mark in the show but vanished after just 12 episodes of the high flying show. Locane-Bovenizer, who changed her name after her 2008 nuptials, played the character Sandy a waitress who doubled as an aspiring actress at "Shooters", the centerpiece of the show. She also starred in "Cry Baby" in 1990 with up and coming actor, Johnny Depp. Based on some shocking news today, she has much to cry about.

Today, a grand jury in Somerset, New Jersey returned a surprise indictment of the "Cry Baby" actress. For her part in a crash earlier this year in NJ, she faces up to 20 years behind bars. In that crash, the star who is married to a famous wine expert, had just left a venue before the fatal crash. Witnesses say that she slammed her luxury SUV into the side of a vehicle, killing the passenger and critically wounding the driver. Imagine that? Married to a wine expert? Believe it or not, she admitted to having several glasses of wine. Police agreed with her after the hard evidence was received.

She also fled the scene moments earlier after rear-ending another vehicle. Can you believe she did not stop at that point? Drunk or not, once you ram your car into something, it should wake up your senses. Sadly, she continued on and ended the life of an unsuspecting human being.

Unfortunately, based on statistics, approximately 115 people die everyday in this country. This amounts to about one death every 13 minutes and 37% are caused by people like Amy Locane who decide to get behind the wheel after juicing too much. It's like a badge of honor to drink for the rich and famous at events and after-parties. And, it appears that the richer one is, the more they partake in, toasting to just about anything.
