NFL referees have done some amazing things with penalty flags before. (Ask Orlando Brown, though, and "amazing" might not be the first word used.) But have you ever seen a flag stuck in a player's facemask?
That screenshot of Stephen McGee, via @worstfan, is just fantastic, and the result of referee Jeff Triplette or a member of his crew doing a bit of pinpoint tossing.
Even more incredible? McGee recovered on the drive to do some pinpoint passing of his own, throwing a great pass to Miles Austin for a 37-yard go-ahead touchdown. The moral of this story is obviously that if you are an NFL player seeing your first major action, and you get a penalty flag thrown through your facemask, good things will happen.
