East Carroll Parish deputies said a Lake Providence High School teacher who was involved in a fight with a student was still being treated for injuries on Friday.

Deputies said Ladashia King, 18, a student at Lake Providence High School, fought with her teacher during school hours on Thursday.

According to deputies, King was arrested, and the teacher reportedly involved in the fight, Jackie Collins, was expected to be arrested as well.

Deputies said King suffered cuts and scrapes in the alleged fight.

Reportedly, King said the fight began while she was "minding her own business" and Collins came up to her wanting to "joke around."

King said she told Collins to leave her alone. She said that was when Collins reportedly slapped her.

Deputies said a video shows King allegedly hit her teacher first.
