Team USA Softball Olympians, Natasha Watley and Jennie Finch were the highlight of the All-Star Legends Celebrity Game. The Celebrity Game is one of the many events leading up to the MLB All-Star Game, which takes place tonight, July 13, 2010 at Angel’s stadium.
The Examiner reports that both Watley and Finch were confident and seemingly relaxed amongst their famous team mates, made up of both celebrities and athletes. Jennie Finch smoked a few of her famously fast pitches past Ricky Henderson and Tim Salmon “to both laughter and applause” the Examiner adds. She also hit a home-run deep to center field for her team.
Natasha Watley, Team USA’s shortstop, easily snagged a couple of hard hit balls at third base.
“It was all for fun and charity, but should still be noted that both Watley and Finch represented themselves and women’s athletics very well,” the Examiner writes.
Jennie Finch and Natasha Watley helped the US team win gold at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.
